2011 Convention

The 1st Annual Truck Driver Social Media Convention

Saturday, October 15, 2011 * 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM
The Gold Strike Resort & Casino in Tunica, MI

This is going to be an exciting day for everyone who attends this first of its kind event.  This event is for the professional truck driver.  You are the men and women who keep America moving and who know what the real issues are facing today's truck driver.  Whether you are a veteran driver or a recent CDL training school graduate, your participation in this 1st Annual Truck Driver Social Media Convention will be a ground breaking event.

This is not a trucking show or expo.  This will be a working convention between our nation's truck drivers, those involved with trucking social media, and for all who wish to work together towards making a positive impact.  As professional drivers, you will have the opportunity to actively participate by sharing your thoughts, concerns, ideas and solutions to what you see as the most pressing issues facing today's American driver.  We will then take with us all that we have shared, and through the tools of social media, assure that your voices are heard from outside of the cab.

Allen and Donna Smith

The brainchild of Allen and Donna Smith of AskTheTrucker.com and Truth About Trucking, this event will be open to the first 550 attendees who would like to experience interacting with those involved in social media, experts within the industry, the generous sponsors who support them and with one another.  Allen is a veteran driver and professional truck driving advocate, and together with his wife, Donna, they are making a real difference for today's drivers.

James S. McCormack

James S. McCormack, CEO and founder of Trucking Careers of America, will be one of the guest speakers.  An advocate for career planning being a definite advantage and almost a necessity for a successful driving career in today's trucking climate, Mr. McCormack will be speaking about the importance of understanding and recognizing "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" in the trucking industry and how to avoid a career setback.

Let's talk a bit about Social Media.  Everywhere you go, everywhere you search on the Internet, everyone you talk with is either involved with social media, learning about social media or want to learn about social media.  And let's face it, it is rather confusing - do you sign up for just one, like maybe Facebook - or - do you sign up for several?  I guess the answer may be, how much time do you have?

Austin Walsh

That is a question for Austin Walsh, one of the country's top experts in Social Media.  Having designed and created Social Media campaigns for celebrity clients, Mr. Walsh will share his expertise with professional truck drivers and the trucking industry alike.  With all the opportunities open to Americans to utilize social media, the trucking industry is lagging behind.  This will be a great opportunity to learn how to catch up !

There are other guest speakers as well, open panel discussions, and question and answer periods.  And there's lots more ... The 1st Annual Truck Driver Social Media Convention will lay the foundation for future events to honor the professional driver, offering recognition and respect, with a complete day and evening filled with information, fine dining, friendship and entertainment.
